This rosette plant originates from Southern Taiwan, thus the name, and can have a width of
10 to 15 cm and a height of 15 to 25 cm. This plant has many underwater leaves and is
characterised by the intense, light green, transparent colour of the plant. For best results, this
plant requires lots of nourishment, such as fertilisers. It is very fast growing and the oldest
leaves need to be removed regularly, as well as those that reach the surface, in order to
release new decorative leaves. Young plants grow on the leaf blades of older leaves, which is
botanical curiosity. This plant grows like a weed in both low and high light and will do well in a
low tech tank without any CO2 or fertilisation. It reproduces easily, small ‘baby plants’ forming
at the junction of the leaf and stem. Once the ‘baby plant’ has 3 to 4 leaves, just remove the
stem, detach the ‘baby plant’ and plant it normally into the substrate.
