Hydrocotyle tripartita sp. ‘Japan’

This plant originates from Japan and is also known as Hydrocotyle sp. “Japan”.

It has small, brilliant, intense, green leaves on vertical stems and is characterised by its compact fast growth that produces a beautiful carpet-like effect at the front of the aquarium floor, at approximately 5–10 cm in height.

It has 3–5 lobed leaves which are very much like domestic clover plants.

For best results this plant requires good light. This is a very easy plant to grow and therefore if you are new to the hobby and want quick results this is the plant for you. It is best to plant as a carpeting plant as it hugs the foreground and sends out runners regularly.

If the light is too low you will find that it will stretch up the tank instead of across.
