Origin

Central & South America

This plant originates from Central & South America. It is a floating plant that grows virtually anywhere there is light and fertilizer.

Limnobium laevigatum is a great nitrate remover and provides security for fry and shy fish, as it covers the surface of the tank. The thick, waxy leaves of the Frogbit are 2–3 cm long and almost round in shape.

This adaptable floating plant can be kept in open-topped aquariums or tanks with adequate ventilation. Given good conditions, it will spread rapidly and may need to be thinned occasionally.

Although the roots of this plant are not large and trailing compared with some floating species, they will provide welcome cover for surface-dwelling fish. This is an easy plant to grow and therefore perfect for the beginner.
