Myriophyllum mattogrossense

This plant, which originates from South America, has feather-like reddish stems and a multitude of finely divided, bright green leaves that are approximately 5 cm wide and create a beautiful effect within the aquarium.

With good lighting, this plant spreads out like a fan and needs to be trimmed regularly in order for it to maintain its bushy form.

It requires a nutrient-rich substrate and is a good starter plant for beginners to the hobby as it is relatively easy to care for and is fast growing. As it can grow up to 60 cm in height, it should be planted in the background of the aquarium.
