A winsome foreground plant, the River Buttercup is new to the hobby, a perfect new silhouette for the miniature aquascape. The parsley-looking fingers of green will march across the expanse of the substrate, nodding above the tiniest of the substrate covers.

The single upright stems with their branched finger-like leaves look best when planted sparsely so that the distinctive silhouette can be appreciated. Create a whimsical aquascape where the buttercups “tower” over a tiny ground cover like Pearl Grass.

Though the River Buttercup is slow starting, it picks up the pace when established, and will need to be thinned to stay healthy. Otherwise, the patch can be kept in place by hardscape borders; rocks can form boundaries for special plants while they draw attention to them in the design.
