This plant is a favourite of aquascapers. The bright green colour and contained height of this compact grassy plant creates a foreground lawn in the aquarium.
Use a fine-grained substrate to hold the delicate roots of this plant. Micro Sword tends to grow in a line, with a little shoot and roots at regular intervals.
To plant, group a few of the shoot/root combos and either plant directly into the substrate or gently tie them together with black thread and attach them to a small stone to combat buoyancy.
Though they are somewhat slow-growing, they will fill the entire substrate in time. They even grow in the shade of taller plants, where they will get a bit taller than those plants that are directly in the light.
This plant grows stronger in harder water than many of the tropical plants that have an affinity for soft water.
